1981 MERCEDES 300D –One Owner
I discovered this one owner 1981 Mercedes 300D in Boise, Idaho. The vehicle was purchased new from Lyle Pearson Mercedes Benz in Boise in April of 1981. It has received meticulous care and it shows! This Mercedes has always been garaged and serviced regularly as shown in the maintenance booklet. The odometer shows only 152,495 original miles. A rare 81 300D indeed! These cars routinely top 500,000 miles.
The car makes great power and cruises effortlessly at highway speeds. Fuel economy is impressive at 28-30 miles per gallon for this 31year old vehicle. Everything on the car operates, as it should. The handling is tight and steering is responsive. The automatic climate control works great. The air conditioning blows cold and the heater blows hot. The vacuum operated door locks work properly. The cruise control works. The factory Becker Europa AM/FM tape sounds great and the power antennae goes up and down. The power sunroof opens and closes properly. The MB-Tex upholstery is almost flawless and the seats sit very nicely. This fine diesel still has the unopened factory first aid kit and original owner’s manuals. The car has never been in an accident as evidenced by the Auto Check report. I have also used my paint meter on every body panel and it is all original paint. The exterior of this Mercedes is beautiful! The paint is glossy with few imperfections. There are some chips in the plastic surround of the right headlight (shown). The tires have 85% tread left and the brakes are like new. The transmission shifts smoothly. In short this Mercedes is a joy to drive.
This is no doubt one of the finest and lowest mile one owner 1981 300D Mercedes in the country.
